NFW Autopilot Watch Review

Finally, I found what I’ve been looking for in a watch – the NFW Autopilot has it. This isn’t just a watch, it’s a timepiece, it’s a work of art, it’s the badass forging of masculine machinery. My love of the Autopilot began before I ordered it. I had originally been scouting out the MTM Special Forces brand, and had read some reviews online comparing it to NFW. Who’s NFW? Never heard of them. So I decided to send an email to their customer service, and I received a personalized response within 3 hours. I had a few more questions, and George the...

We loaded the bikes and hit the road north. We got into the camp at around 9:00pm. I popped the top on the...

A Tale of Two Rides

I find that I often get my greatest ideas when I am out riding. Something about the physical exertion that stimulates my brain. I can turn out more ideas than I know what to do with. Trouble is I have to remember them so that I can explore them further. As a result, when I am maximizing brain time on a ride, my rides are not usually my best. Thus, the Tale of Two Rides. One ride is a ride of thoughts, the other a ride of focused physical action. When I am riding well I am focused on riding. I am not thinking. I am prepared for quick reactions and transitions. I can do bigger drops, carve...

One Way To Get A New Bike

For years I pedaled a 94 steel hard tail. I love that bike. It climbs like a beast and carves turns like butter. A little over 2 years ago I found a Moots Smoothie full suspension ride for a screaming deal on E-bay. I got to ride it for a season and I was beginning to feel a real connection with the bike. Toward the end of the season I went for a ride then strapped it on the roof of my wifes car. We rarely carried the bikes that way and only remembered it was there when the bike met the garage and collapsed to the ground. The damage was completed when my wife, in her concern, put the car in...
